New AI for Health Powered by 30+ Million Medical Studies

Daniel and Sergei, alongside a team of brilliant data scientists and engineers, started a project that was born out of necessity and complements our respective skills perfectly.  It is meant to help a lot of people. This new idea was improving healthcare experience for individuals and employers using machine learning and other cool tech tools.  We say “other cool tech tools” because every engineer and every coder on the team has multiple unique talents. The project, and later the company, was named WellAI, for Wellness Artificial Intelligence.

With the COVID pandemic, the need for a more efficient AI-driven health service has become even more acute. Health insurance premiums are becoming unbearable for both individuals and employers. As they say, every business is a healthcare business now. WellAI can help.

We were inspired by the way scientists across the globe has united behind an idea of developing different solutions to fight COVID-19. [link] The WellAI team spent four weeks, with almost no sleep working on an analytical tool to help medical researchers. Their work culminated in an analytical tool for medical researchers that helped narrow their scope and focus on those medical concepts that have direct relation to COVID-19. [link]

We are applying the same methodology to help individuals and business owners. These are the painful facts:

• Even before COVID, about half of U.S. adults said they or a family member had put off or had skipped some sort of health care or dental care in the past year because of costs.
• Health insurance premium growth continues to outpace both inflation and increases in workers’ earnings.
• Health costs are the second biggest expense after payroll for many companies reaching $15-20K per employee per year.
• The actual losses for businesses are 2-3X due to absenteeism and loss of productivity.

WellAI is addressing these issues by providing first line of defense for employees, using AI to provide up-to-date scientific information and plan of action customized for an employee’s personal situation, hence minimizing doctor visits. WellAI’s community platform fosters interaction and team spirit in pursuit of wellness.
